www.qualitytourism.com.au is an Australian Government funded site that is designed specifically for Australian tourism operators.  The Quality Tourism portal is an online gateway to all the business improvement information, and tools that operators need to improve their profitability, credibility and sustainability.

There are three main sections of the portal designed to help businesses become more professional, sustainable and profitable. These are Business Improvement, Quality Systems and Success Stories. Restaurants, cafes and caterers can apply for accreditation on-line by following the links below.

What is Restaurant Accreditation?

Recent research by Restaurant & Catering Australia has determined the skills necessary for operating a successful restaurant business. It is likely that you possess a number of these skills but may not have formal recognition for them.

Restaurant & Catering Australia now provides restaurateurs with the opportunity to demonstrate that they are part of the ranks of professionals by helping them receive certification for their skills and subsequently allowing them to apply for accreditation for their individual businesses. The certification process will assist in setting an industry standard for 'Certified Professional Restaurateurs'. The letters CPR can be used after an individual's name. Once you are accredited, you can then apply to have your business accredited.

What is Gold License Catering?

Gold Licensing has established minimum standards for caterers in the areas of hygiene in food preparation, the quality of cooking personnel and management, the existence of appropriate Workers Compensation and Product & Public Liability insurance. All of these are potential problem areas for unsuspecting customers of fly-by-night businesses, and ensure that consumers are supplied with a quality product.
